In-Depth Description:

Unlike plastic tape, which can remain in the forest for years, Our paper tape returns safely to the soil. Each roll is made from renewable materials with a smooth, easy-tear design suited for field work.

Color options can be selected by crews to match block requirements or environmental conditions.

Two paper thicknesses are available:

  • Drop Flagging Tape (thinner lightweight paper) 300′ a roll – Lightweight and ideal for high-volume planting operations. Decomposes quickly.
  • Hanging Flagging Tape (thicker heavyweight paper) 225′ a roll – Denser paper for hanging tags . Takes slightly longer to decompose and maintains strength for extended use.

Re-useable Zipperlock Bags
For extra protection we sell Large 100% compostable ECO-friendly plant based BPA zipper lock along with our flagging tape. The Large bags fit up to 4 rolls so there is less waste. These bags work great when carrying our flagging tape in harsh environmental conditions with no container to carry them in.

  • Tensile Performance: Retains strength when damp; degrades progressively after long-term exposure

Zanzibar started using HawkPlantingWorks paper flagging in 2025 in a few different areas of the province, from Vancouver Island to the East Kootenays and up to the north Cariboo.
